Yep, it's 2021 and I'm still here, still going. Reignited by recent happenings, I stumbled across this blog again and decided to check in. Damn, it's really been over 10 years since starting Stock Metal. I remember taking the dive and wanting to do this back in 2009. Time slips by way too quickly. Even as I type this, it's like my writing style hasn't changed. It's like my Dad would tell me, "You write as if you're talking". Well, if that's what it is, that's what it is. From my thoughts straight to the keyboard, unfiltered and 100% what I'm feeling and thinking.
In true fashion, here's an update. I still have the FC3S, I blew an engine back in 2019. The motor was never tuned and I ran it for a good 4 years with maybe overheting episodes occuring like 4 times? I premixed using 2 stroke oil and made sure to always baby it while on the street. Still, the engine gave me all she could with what I had. I blame things maninly on the wack RTEK 1.8 ecu I had in the car, plus a whole bunch of other events I was going through personally at the time just compiled and the FC truly was my work horse. All that though is in the past and it's now May 2021 and I'm blessed to say that lots of improvements (parts wise) have kept me in the game and again, on fire for the Rotary. Here's some past pics, pardon the bad order haha, blogger is strange to use
In the mountains by ACH, this is the FC in it's previous state around 2018? Me and Ame_San in Japan 2018 gifting him the first run of tee shirts I ever made with my name on it. This was on my birthday too.

KEEPING TINGS IN MOTION
Maybe it's because of SevenStock Day looming upon all Rotary heads like myself, but I haven't been this driven to finally finish the FC in some time.
I get a little money this week due to selling parts that I don't need and it's given me the chance to pick up parts that I've been REALLY trying to install.
Like this front lip. Don't know why, but finding a decent aggressive front lip for the FC has proven rather challenging. Anyhow, I met another fellow FC owner willing to separate from his and give it to me, yesss! Just in time for SevenStock. Check the pic with said lip...
Pretty dope, think it will fit nice on mine. Tings in motion.

(SA) 22C WORKS WEST JAPAN, INAI-SAN
Had a really cool nite last night, or should I say awesome (3AM) morning. I went to bed early but woke up mad early feeling energized. Hopped on my iphone and got to browsing Mazda content. This landed me on a crew from Japan called SA22C WORKS WEST. They're dope! I remember their website from some years ago and they'd always post really cool pics, mainly 1st gen FB3S and SA22C chassis stuff. I know my good homie Hoyce loved it since he's a die-hard 1st gen guy, also one of my closest mazda homies.
Anyhow, todays post I wanted to mention my new friend, Kohei Inai. He's the coordinator at SA22C Works and the person I met early this morning via a Facebook conversation we had. I initially reached out enthusiastically about them posting more photo content. To my surprise, Inai-San replied back. So dope. Looking forward to keeping in contact and eventually taking a flight over there.
What's really cool is that he invited me to their big meet going down next year in August 2016. Sick! I already have my passport so I'll have to coordinate dates and budgets. So, below is just a few of the pics I found, I wanna post more periodically on my blog...they're shot really well and I just like them overall.
Take a look...

This is their logo, pretty ill.
Look at that hood! I know you see this Hoyce, hope you get one someday.
This was a dope FB3S I found too, I like how clean it is.
You know I got a spot for 3s, parked next to a sick little SA too.
That's it for now...I'll try and capture more on the SA22C Works crew later. Good meeting you Kohei!!!

UPDATE:: NEW PARTS!
In the last post I mentioned that I recently came up on some parts at no cost. Well, they came from my good homie Bijan. He's like the master at finding sick deals but very good at storing parts for the Mazda Rotary. He's had some gems, much he had to let go and sell, other's he still has. I took a visit recently to his house, I was in need of the OEM FC trailing coil. While there yesterday, he had these to offer:
A nice and rust-free FC rear hatch, mine was on its way out. No rear wiper and Tint!
A used (nice condition) Koyo Radiator for the S5 FC. I get to replace that Godspeed unit from 2012
That's it for now, I'll be doing the install this weekend. Will try and capture some more content on that.
STILL GOT HER
Like the title states, kept the FC and never letting go, I cant. It's been 9 years since I picked it up, 2006 was a crazy year for me. Life still is crazy. Anyhow, It's currently at a shop getting some final touches added. Just wanted to post a pic on this blog, call it a time capsule..nothing has changed on it externally, just the internals. What a ride it's been.
I will post some new parts I've acquired on the next post, pretty excited. My good friend Bijan came through huge and I'll explain why later. The above image is grainy and wack, its because I took it under low lighting and used my iphone.
Until the next post...
I'M BACK, AGAIN?
Soooo liiiike, it's been approximately 2 years since I last posted?? Man. Alright, well, it hit me again and like always, I'm picking up the pieces and still posting content. I'm inspired this time, for real. *crosses fingers.
But seriously, I'm here again and I'm gonna push to do more. As for updates, here's a few in list form:
- Still lave the FC3S
- FC is still not running properly
- I've moved to a new place
- Switched jobs about 3 times since 2012
- Have an amazing new girlfriend
- Skateboard when I can
- Still broke as always
- I might make it to this November's SevenStock event with my Mazda
- Found mentorship in Bobby Hundreds from "The Hundreds" brand
So there you go, a short and brief list of what life is like minus a few details, more on that later. Know that I'm alive, grateful beliver in Jesus Christ and will NEVER lose sight of the vision he's given me. Do people still read blogs anymore???
