My Magnus Moment
I watched this mans mini-doc on a website last night while chillin in my lab, quite possibly one of the most awesome videos I've seen in quite some time. Magnus Walker, you are badass and have definitely added "bonus" fuel (pun intended) to my burning Mazda RX7 passion. I respect you as a Porsche purist and am pleased to know you smash the streets of DTLA/Los Angeles ANYTIME your heart desires.
Below is the bio on his blog (found here), I'll post "the" video some other time:
"My love affair with PORSCHE began as a 10 year old kid, and a trip to the 1977 LONDON motor show.
That is where I laid my eyes upon a 77-930 Martini TURBO!
As a kid growing up in SHEFFIELD-ENGLAND Porches were not a common sight. Sure I had the TURBO poster on my wall, lusted after one, and even wrote a letter to the Porsche factory!
Hey... They even wrote back!
Saying words to the affect "give us a call back when you are older".
Fast forward a few years, and in 1986 at the age of 19 I moved to
America and started a new life in LOS ANGELES..
At the age of 25 in 1992 I acquired my first 911,
now almost 20 years later and over 40 -911 cars later I am living my PORSCHE dream.
I have done some club racing and instructing with the POC throughout the past 10 years.
Over the past few years I have been expanding my 64-73 early car collection and have been building quite a few "sports purpose" R -ST inspired streetable track type cars.
My builds are starting to gain world wide attention,
and a few unique touches such as my grafted R turn signals, louvered deck lids, drilled door handles and attention to detail to name a few are becoming my "signature marks".
This blog is a slight peak into my daily life
THANKS FOR FOR FOLLOWING ALONG!!

You my boy Rico
This reminds me of me and my boy Ricardo from back in our Torrance days as roommates. He was always guiding me and my lack of technical mechanic skills. This also happens to be one of my favorite Anime books/show called "Wangan Midnight"
Does this look like an FC? Think the illustrator had a miata moment and forgot to add the additional lenses.

Couple Years Back...
Saw this recently, brought me back to when I lived in Torrance. Such a cool vibe out there with a dope automotive scene. A lot of aftermarket parts spots there too. This pic was when I really settled in with the overall look of the FC, this second time around will be the phase 2. Can't wait to share it with y'all. Peep my game face in this pic, haha! Circa 2009

The Hunt for GT35R...
For those not in the know, GT35R is the turbo needed for my motor. Its size and boost characteristics are exactly what will take my engine to the next level. Seriously, I'm trying smash on dudes very soon. Been browsing internet forums and networking amongst my Rotary community, I'm in full Turbo Hunter mode. I'll keep ya'll posted on my progress. #blessed

Up-dizzate...
What a month October has been, slight financial freedom, stress from trying to put this FC back together, and money mngmt anxiety. Got some new parts again, just need to install them. Story of my life.

Playing time...
I'm back in the game! Man, it feels good, again, since coming across some dough recently, I've been able to FINALLY put my FC plans in motion. I can just imagine the gnarly Mazda antics I'd be up to if I had some stupid amounts of Rick Ross money. Below is the latest I ordered from the homie Ash over at Mazdatrix, this weekend is the Rotary install, to be continued...
Pilot Bearing for the Mazdaspeed Clutch (super hyped on this clutch)
Comp motor mount

Connected n shit...
Took a while, but I'm finally on the grid. Picked up an iphone5, pretty rad. Never had an iphone before, got one in black.

Shift the gear, pop the clutch
Picked up this next much needed part as of recent. The choices were a)getting my BBS's re-barreled or b) a clutch and flywheel set. Well as you can see, I chose to complete my drivetrain before living out my wildest stance/wheel fitment dreams. Check the pic below, dopeness from Mazdaspeed son:

Circuit Soul
"Live, make, create, inspire, explore, ride, drive or die. We build cars, capture photos, create films, make things— because we have an unrelenting push to create and design. We drive our cars because we chase freedom. We travel because we chase experience. We meet people to truly connect. Constantly hunting to find like-minded individuals with the same all-consuming ambition. True friendships. Real heads. Real thoughts. Those who really “get it”. The mentality. To learn, to know, and share, and live. Iron minds. What if money was no object? Think about it. We’d still be right here."

*POWER* FC
I love that title, and even more since Apexi decided to release an ECU with the letters "FC" in it. Such a perfect fit for my car, it was meant to be : )
So, I can say that as of recent, I have been blessed and I feel that my prayers have been answered. October is turning out to be dope and allowed me to get parts for my FC. Starting with this, my first standalone ECU (this is the cars computer, for those wondering) ever!! I still have to wire it to my engine, keeping my fingers crossed and hope all goes according to plan, check it:

The Reason...
Interesting topic took place today while at work. Had a conversation with co-workers as to why I am so passionate about pursuing drifting motorsports. Not just drifting either, rather, driving and building Mazdas in general. Questions arised like "how much money does the top driver make?", or "why would a company invest into such an activity?". These were questions that as I sat back and thought about it, they didn't really matter. Not dismissing the fact that I "wouldn't" want a top level brand to support me, but when you are someone who is deeply passionate about what you want to pursue, nothing else matters, you're free. The truth is this, stick to your dream, remain firm in your vision.
Ultimately in life, all I want is seat-time in my FC, master the car as an expert, skateboard a lot, play tons of basketball and the brands who I've supported for so many years to support me someday. The exchange? My driving/drifting captured on camera while promoting dope product, creating fresh culture and earning respect amongst my peers. Cool?

Bike + Bad Ankle = Happy Medium
Fixed gear is actually pretty cool, drawn to the aesthetic from some of the bikes I've noticed over the years, it was natural for me to want to get involved and start riding too. Approaching my first year of consistent riding, I'm now playing with the idea of picking up a new frameset. With my left ankle STILL jacked up from years of skating, it's probably a good idea to continue biking and keep the adrenaline juices flowing. Below is an image of one I'd like to work towards maybe getting, looks dope.

Today's prayful thinking
Today was a Monday, went to work with little money. Regardless, I made it through, ate little and focused on my tasks. Creative thoughts entered my mind periodically and so the urge to release it is spilling out on this keyboard as I type. Ideas of putting my FC back together and all the little details going in to the build are beginning to get stronger. Worked a little overtime, got home, removed the car cover from the FC and sat in it. I even prayed a little while in there...silently. It's the passion and the WANT to explore the possiblilities with something I've built. You'd have to really love things like this to understand. In ending, I know the answers will come and I'll finally live the dream with this project of mine. Below is an image I found which ties in a little to the intentions I have with the FC, it's all in the details : )

Hope
Amazing, there exists within this car culture the select few who actually get it. Stock Metal endorsed, I spotted this FC and had to post it. Doesn't look bad at all with some edge and a little roughness. Ride height is cool, front lip installed, not bad. There is hope.
Passport
Had an enjoyable day on this very sunny and amazing Sunday. Went to church earlier and decided that since my boy Vinnie was occupied, I'd go and take a long over due bike ride with Jeff. We ate at Togo's and headed out on the summers afternoon adventure down the chandler bike path. Ended up stopping at Balboa park and chillin. The point of this post is that while we caught up and talked about life and our plans, the impact of our conversation was so motivating and refreshing that the creative juices began flowing again. We discussed traveling and taking some of our efforts overseas and chilling in Japan. I love cars and drifting motorsports (namely Mazdas) and Jeff liked the idea of international marketing and a dabble in music production out there. So it's final, I hold off on that dang new clutch and flywheel purchase (desperately needed) and FINALLY get my passport. The idea of traveling to Japan and having an opportunity out there can keep me patiently waiting on buying some car parts for now.

Time Passes...
Man, it's been super long since I last updated this blog. I hate skipping out on things like that, it's annoying and makes me feel like I'm losing the creative edge. Enough on that, let me update ya'll a little and post some new images I had laying about. So I guess I'll start with my FC. As some of you may know, it's hard affording the cost sometimes to support what you love. With that being said, getting my FC back to its glorious state has been quite the struggle. As of today, my 13B-T is sitting in my bedroom with a fresh rebuild while the rolling chassis sits adjacent to my room in the carport awaiting its heart to be dropped in. I do have a source of income, but it's just the darn cost of living and retarded annoyances like tickets which hold back the progress : / Oh well, someday soon, I just stay praying for better days and know that my time will come when I can join my rotary brothers at a track day sesh. That's my rant/explanation for now...here's some photos I took.
The beloved chilling with good ol Jack Stand
This was my 13b the afternoon I brought it home from Lucky 7 racing
In pure excitement, I had to drop by the shop to actually SEE my replacement rotors before they were installed into the engine, here's the snap I took of them. Aren't they beautiful? : )
