My first Aero

While at Justins shop, I mentioned that I was putting together a drift FC and needed some cool Aero, particularly a front bumper and side skirts. Luck would have it that Justin was offering some for sale and would hook it up for me. The skirts will need some re-fiberglassing as well as primer. These will also have to be repainted white to match my paint. Also purchased was a turbo timer harness. So, in ending, a good price was offered and here's what I picked up :)

JTP's vert drift FC

Stopped by Justin Pawlaks shop to kick it and help with his rotary engine install. It was dope seeing his FC come together and hope that one day I can come back and maybe work on my car here. Pic time:

TEIN super drift coilover install : )

So, today was a busy day as usual. Got up this morning and headed over to Jaimes...AGAIN!!! Lol. I immediately get started on my FC and removing my TEIN flex type coilovers for delivery to my boy Brandon. His shop is called Integrated Performance and it's where I'll be going for a lot of my drifting parts. Well, here are the pics from todays install, check it out.

This is Brandons FC set up for time attack which donated the drift suspension to me.

Cleaning up the newly accquired coilovers

All doneski....low low, just how I like it.

Be cool Ricardo....

I'm laying in my room @ 5am to the sounds of my roommate Ricardo gathering his final things for the move back home to Arizona. It's sad and I really hate goodbyes, he's like a brother who's moving on in life now. I'll try and keep it together and do my thing. I guess I'm used to it, coming from a split family is nothing new, it's just unsettling when you know it's gonna happen again. Anyhow, ricardo if your reading this...be easy mayng and good luck with your endeavours, it was fun while it lasted having you here.

R.I.P MC Breed

This was my song back in 91....bomb music

Chillin with JTP

This past memorial day weekend, I had some free time so I decided to chill with my boy Jaime. We ended up heading to JTP's (Justin Pawlak) garage in Gardena CA. A little back history: I initially met Justin in 2006 shortly after he arrived in Los Angeles while running a shop in East LA called "BOSO". He was hella cool and even helped me with my 3rd FC which was non turbo and needed suspension installed. He wasnt sponsored at the time, but had the dopest setup FC in his classic green colour scheme. I knew then that he was someone I could learn from and one day follow. His craftsmanship, sense of style with FC's and how they should be assembled was inspiring.

On Monday, we hung out, checked out his latest projects and laughed it up a bit. I was told of mountain runs back home in detroit where he flew backwards 15 feet off a road, his basketball 3 point contest victory win against his high school's top point guard, how he blew 5 motors in one month over a faulty manifold during a season. Of all the things we discussed, most memorable was the advice he gave. He explained that as a driver coming up, he was told to keep it "Smooth". He referenced smooth style within skateboarding and how the same aspects apply to drifting. Keepin it smooth Justin, is my aim, and thanks to you, I remain focused on being an awesome driver.

U worry bout the wrong things...

Would love to use this song for some of my upcoming drifting footage....gets me in the mood for some good driving.

Letting go.

Ive found myself as being an individual who has a hard time letting go. I hold sentiment to things in which can be good and bad. Knowing that I clearly have a goal set in mind, I decided to finally sell my old school RX3. This was hard. I love that car and would dream about one day driving alongside some of my buddies and their classic old schools. However, if Im ever to become an enigma in motorsports, I have to make sacrifices. I now have a foundation in which to bring my driving and my FC3S to another much needed level....stay tuned for things to come.

It's all Love.

Armando Flores Jr.

As I drove home on the 405 south, I started thinking. Sadly, it wasnt a pleasant thought, but one that a lot of us come across in our minds. Today I thought of death. It scares me, and yes, I feel down about it. People in my life have died, and it hurt. Recently a good friend of mine left us on May 12th due to a motor bike accident. He was a good person, one who I could look at at and say , " Dang, here's a dude who has struggled but Is living life nicely". Im sure he had his issues, but none like mine. In a way, I wouldnt have minded switching lifestyles with this person. Armando Flores was his name. His passing recently left me thinking. I started thinking " what would I say to those today since Im alive and have the oppurtunity?".

Here's what I would say. To my family, I love you guys. I want you to know that. Im alone sometimes, but I want you to know that what I do and what I pursue, is so that one day I can provide for you and end the struggle. To my brothers Emmanuel and Chris, you guys are the best and I want so badly to help yall. Mom, you've always been there and words cant describe how much my heart loves you. When the day comes, and Im sucessful, I promise to take care of you..I want you to have it all. You deserve it Mom. Pierre, your my everything. I think about you all the time. Your my strength and the Lord knows it. What I do, is so that you can be proud. To all my friends, I love you guys. When I laugh around you, it takes me away from the problems, it heals me. My friends mean so much to me and I cant thank you enough.

I want to say soo much more to everyone, I really do, but I guess when I see you, a hug will do or something or maybe even a good talk, but never forget....I love you all.

The Rotor

This invention, this item of pure genius. Not known by many, it has existed for years, yet still remains hidden. The rotor in my eyes and world represents a few things Id like to share. For starters, it symbolizes a path, a road less traveled. The road in creativity and individuality. For me, a path...a path which allowed me to dream. A path which has almost set me free. You see, I could have follwed others, I could have conformed. No, with help from another, I chose different. I researched and delved heavily into this invention and began to dream. Dreaming of what could be and how I could change my life. For some it is simply automotive technology, to me, it changed my life. Impacted me so greatly, and has allowed me to finally identify what I want to pursue in life. I dream big and I visualize, I sacrifice but I do not idol this invention, my faith lies heavily in a higher power, yet this higher power blessed me with a discovery, the Rotor.

Uche teh Wolverine

Im an X-men, just havent told many people. My powers consist of staying up late, spending ridiculous amounts of money on rotaries, good alcohol tolerance and eating cereal any time of day. Watch out.

Jaime's 3rd Gen Rx7...

Jaime just recently picked up a FD3S. This is like the god of all Rx7's..it's really expensive to maintain and has a timeless design. I took some pics of him installing a Nardi steering wheel and will follow his project every once in a while to kind of monitor it's progress.

My first racing bucket seat....

Just picked up this BRIDE holding monster (i love that title) from my boy boy Alex. Im very happy and can finally feel secure in my FC as Im sliding through a turn. Awesomeville!

This recliner knob looks just like a rotor....LOVE!!!

Welded Diff install.

So things seem to be moving right along and Im making valiant attempts to attend as many drift events as possible. Recently I had the option to either run my KAAZ diff or a non turbo welded unit from Daniel. Ended up using Daniels welded type with good locking power, cheap to modify and LIGHTWEIGHT...perfect for getting the wheels to spin. We had to make a run back to my house to pick up the non turbo driveshaft which I forgot to bring and prolonged the install way into 3am the next morning, doh!. Here's some pics taken the night before the event.

Swaybar removed, makes things easier to slide

Unbolting the rear sway bar

Again, daniel is mad funny , seen here with his spread eagle mechanics

Pit area pics at Inland Drift

Here's some pics I took at yesterday's drift session. No real action shot's of myself, just pit area snaps which is all I had time for. Kinda sucks not having someone to shoot pics for you, oh well. Daniel was helping me out as far as recommendation for entry speed and clutch kick drift techniques. We estimate that by my 3rd or 4th trip to that track along with properly funded car set-up, I will be master of drift in So-Cal.

Inland Drift

Very cool track I must say. Had lots of fun today and got some pointers from my good friend Daniel Kuo. He goes by the name DK and has lots of experience with drifting Rx7's...hella funny too. So I got pics which I'll post soon.

Adam's Drift Track.

Whew. Mission accomplished. Now, my objective has been to get on the track and race my FC for the longest time. Last nite, me and my good homies Cedric and Daniel headed out to Riverside CA for Adams track. I must say, not only was this a lot of fun and exciting, it was probably the greatest learning experince I've had since owning an RX7. I did great and would have liked to perform at a higher level when it came to initiating clean and aggressive drift's, but my current setup lacks power and a good locking diff, again affording parts haunts me. I didnt take photos :( and I feel that would have been the least I could do. Im working on the car this weekend at daniels house and will post pics of that and my second triumphant return back to Adams track for round two of my track domination. Wish me luck.
